Countryside Classifieds Ltd is a UK-based online marketplace for buying and selling rural items — from livestock and machinery to produce, firewood, and crafts. Listing items on the Platform is always free, whether creating single or multiple listings.

To maintain a trusted environment, payment verification is required for all sellers before listing any item, regardless of the method of payment that will later be used.

Sales completed outside the Platform are not subject to platform fees, but such payments are not covered by Buyer Protection, the refund process, or dispute resolution procedures. Payments processed through the Platform are subject to a 6% commission (minimum £0.90), which enables a secure payment system where funds are held until the buyer confirms receipt.

Payment Verification

All sellers must complete payment verification through Stripe before creating a listing. This ensures compliance with UK financial regulations and anti-fraud obligations.

Verification information is encrypted and used solely for compliance purposes.

Verification data is never shared with buyers or other users.

Sellers verified through Stripe may process payments securely via the Platform.

Secure Payment Processing: How Payments Work

Payments for purchases made through the Platform are processed via Stripe, ensuring secure handling of funds.

Funds are released to the seller once a transaction is marked as received by the buyer, automatically 14 days after dispatch, or once completion has been verified by the Platform.

Buyer Protection

The Platform ensures funds are held until items are received, providing protection for buyers. Buyers have up to 14 days from dispatch to raise any concerns regarding the order.

All items — whether sent by courier, haulier, pallet service, or livestock transporter — must be shipped with:

• Appropriate tracking

• Proof of delivery

• Insurance or equivalent coverage

Sellers are responsible for arranging safe and compliant transport, including the welfare of any livestock, until the goods or animals are delivered and accepted by the buyer.

Dispute Resolution

Disputes are managed to protect both buyers and sellers.

Transactions may be cancelled for a full refund or completed once the issue is resolved.

If no resolution is achieved within 60 days, disputed transactions are automatically cancelled in favour of the buyer.

Seller Payouts

Payments are typically released to sellers within 7–10 business days of a transaction being completed.

Funds may be held up to 90 days in exceptional cases to ensure all issues, including disputes, are fully resolved.

This system ensures a secure trading environment where both buyers and sellers are protected.

Prohibited Items

The following items cannot be listed or sold on the Platform:

• Firearms, shotguns, air rifles, and ammunition

• Explosives, fireworks

• Any weapon, knife, bladed article, or combat-style equipment

• Dangerous or offensive items prohibited under UK law

Listings in these categories will be removed, and accounts may be restricted or suspended.

Restricted Items

Some items may be listed and sold but carry additional responsibilities. Both buyers and sellers must comply with all applicable UK laws and safety regulations.

Restricted categories include (but are not limited to):

• Agricultural chemicals (pesticides, herbicides, fertilisers)

• Fuel, oils, and lubricants

• Heavy machinery, vehicles, and powered equipment

• Veterinary supplies and animal medicines (where legally permitted)

• Animal feeds, supplements, and minerals

• Electrical equipment and tools requiring safe use

Failure to comply may result in listing removal or account suspension. Countryside Classifieds Ltd accepts no liability for misuse, misrepresentation, or unlawful activity relating to these items.
